GrowlMail crashes Mail.app - even after it's uninstalled!

Aaargh! My Mac is permanently corrupted!

Or is it?

I use growl and love it. I use all kinds of plugins with it so that I can tell when a butterfly in China flaps its wings... I decided to install GrowlMail and immediately regretted it. Not only did it not work, it crashed Mail.app. So I uninstalled it. Mail.app still crashed every time I clicked on a message.

I deleted prefs; I even deleted my mail folder. Same thing.

Finally, after some googling, I disabled plugins (defaults write com.apple.mail EnableBundles 0). Mail came back!

I thought about that for a second and then I noticed that I had an old pgp bundle installed. It's an 8.x version and doesn't work anyway. So I deleted it and re-enabled bundles. Voila! It's all back. So I re-installed GrowlMail and everything is great.

I guess what happened is that there is some sort of cache for bundles that, when both pgp and GrowlMail were installed, got corrupted or retained bad info.
